The Confidante Poem by Ravinder Kumar Soni

The Confidante

Did I hear someone say -
‘You lost yourself
While attempting to be perfect
And perfect you could never be.'
The person who said this was sane,
He knew me better than I did.
He knew that I knew
Perfection is a dangerous illusion;
He knew I would not spend my life,
In fear of being exposed as an imperfect,
That I would choose the safest course,
I would give up my efforts,
Ere my beliefs got hurt.
