The Connection Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

The Connection

What bonds one human psyche to another?
What connects an adult son to his mother?
He looked to her for guidance and direction.
He pardons shortcomings and imperfection.

As a man, he remembers her caring ways.
It was rewarding to hear her proud praise.
His body grew strong from home cooked meals.
He nourished his mind and arranged his ideals.

Years have passed and although he is grown.
He keeps in touch by calling on the telephone.
He sees that her ebony hair has turned to gray.
Each precious today is measured by yesterday.
