The Corked Fame Poem by Alexandre Nodopaka

The Corked Fame

The Corked Fame

I want to achieve fame.
And preferably through art.

I'm thinking how to beat
originality
and how to dance
to merchandizing tunes
because I tell you
that's what it's all about.

There was a time when
the US
was the most outlandishly
superior in the world
BUT now that superiority
started waning
and it might be my chance
to seize on this unexpected
affair
by creating art
that is as restrictive
as is the trickle down
economy
for the masses.

Let me cork real tight
the organization man
in a bottle.

Let me put a glass cage
near the ceiling
with an opening in the glass.

Let me muzzle my mouth
but first let me pour
a half glass of light ale
from an aluminum can
straight out of Tijuana
and the other half
with Champagne.

I can't stand the bubbly
straight from the barrel
and then
I'll bubble out fame.
