The Corn Pleads Poem by Rhonda Baker

The Corn Pleads

Basking in the summer heat
In their row, all nice and neat
The corn pleads towards the sun
Asking for some rain to come
With leaves pointing toward the sky
Not a single cloud goes by
Dew is all they have to survive the day?
As their life begins to fray
