The Cowards Way Poem by Rachelle Adams

The Cowards Way

Rating: 5.0

Your eyes, they show a different story
past the fakeness and the lies
you tell me that it's different
but you know you can't disguise

Don't tell me things are different
or that maybe I will see
because mum, my hopes gone that way
no different it will be

Most kids, they just want presents
and they'll take the cowards way
so guess you never grew up
not even to this very day

But for now I've made my choice
I'll be as low as you
I'll give up on everything
What a silly thing to do

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My mums been on and off drugs since I was little and left my and my siblings, and she just got back on them after such a long time of lying and saying she was clean. I just felt this was a good way to express myself (:

what a dilema, nice expression Rachelle, well written, and even though your mum has let you down, she needs your help and support to get well again.
