The Cross And The Crown Poem by Varghese J Kuttikat

The Cross And The Crown

Penitential ceremony signifies an essential purifying process
Driving away the least trace of malice
Deriving glory from the cross meritorious
The miracle of turning cross into the crown signifies
The magical mystery of sinners getting exalted as saints
Only those who dare Hell, inherit eternal Grace
Malice brings in misery and bitterness
But then does crucifixion always guarantee crown glorious?
Does goodness and bliss inevitably co-exist, ensuring justice?
Is the divine warrior Saint Michael the sure victor in all battles?
O Lord! forgive us, enlighten us, Thou art mighty marvellous
