The Crossing Beneath The River Styx Poem by Frank James Ryan Jr...fjr

The Crossing Beneath The River Styx

Under dark streams and oceans
where Death wallows deep-
beneath the iced-capped blue
to visit the waiting dead,
and their purgatory souls,
upon the River Styx,
where evil ejaculates
''Its'' dross Godless bile,
cracking the perfect glace
of virtue fast imbruing
the sweet of young innocence,
cowering from the chaos,
the turbulence, the wracking-
the wracking of the Mind,
maddening to a seismic fault;

and then there was a pause....
.............................,
..............................

Yet, when Time resumed again-
nothing was the same...,
scathed flesh in fadeless sting -
like alcohol on open wounds; ,
the scars remain forever!

Such queer parallel,
Time and Innocence,
for neither be returned
once lost or stolen.
