The Cry Of The Town Cryer Poem by DANIEL ESSIEN

The Cry Of The Town Cryer

Father, is me again
I came in the old garment and veil
So stained and spotted
Full of sins, shame and self
I come to be washed, clean and free

Clean me of sins and shame
Wash me from self
Want to live in righteousness
Not one sided by self
Want to please God
As led by the spirit not flesh

Want to live like thy son
To live and walk in the spirit
Not to subdue the flesh
But kill it

Lord don't give me power
When the flesh is still alive
The glory will not be thine
The flesh may think it is mine

Lord pour your power on me
Now and the glory shall be thine
Call me now, send me and I shall go
For indeed, the flesh is dead
