The Dalit Priestess Of My heart Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

The Dalit Priestess Of My heart

When there is none in trhe house,
She comes to give water and food
To me, to my gods and goddesses,
Taking permission from
To serve our household deity
And failing to do my duty,
I ask her to show the light and to do puja
If necessary
Rather than keeping gods and goddesses unattended
As for my punditism and Brahmingiri
Though unwilling to do
I ask her to do it thinking about the conditrions of the house
And why can she not
May be it she not a Brahmin, but definitely a human being,
The same blood runs through her veins
And the other I sometimes fail to do puja
As for absence or illness, who will
And rather than keeping unatteneded,
Why can she not after a bath,
Is the body unclean
In which dwells it the mann,
Has anything been written on
That she cannot do it puja,
May not be a Brahmin, but can she not her puja?
