The Dance Poem by Jhon Doe

The Dance

I lean on the wall all on my own
so very much alone
the music is so loud
and not a friend I have found
none that wants to talk to me anyway
and to think, for this moment I have waited all day
the person I came for isn't even here
and even if she was I wouldn't talk to her for fear
that my words would come out all wrong
and she like the others would just move along.

Ive never been to a dance in my life yet but can't wait until prom. Your poem proves why I had to stand up every guy that has asked me out. I'm always afraid of being left alone by someone I love.
