'The Darkest Knight' Poem by Andrew Boyer

'The Darkest Knight'

Rating: 5.0

i remember you. were so excited
got you tickets, your friends were invited
in aurora colorado.
the screen showed a shadow.

gas cans went off in the isle
a bullet hit you in the face
no dark knight was there to save you
from an angry kid who went insane
only seventy were shot
but the nation's still in pain.

it was the Darkest night
the nightmares wont go away
It haunts me still, every hour every day

It was the darknest night
and still i wait
for you to walk through that door
and have everything okay

i wish it was, just a bad dream
wish i would wake up, and forget everything
but youre gone, and days are longer,
i lost my mind, and my daughter.

life's just not the same no more
its now a darker colder place.
he shot the crowd just in cold blood
he didnt even show his face.
and i havent gone to the movies ever since that day.

it was the Darkest night
the nightmares wont go away
It haunts me still, every hour every day

It was the darknest night
and still i wait
for you to walk through that door
and have everything okay
