The Dawn Poem by Smita Tewari

The Dawn

Today, after years, I welcomed the dawn,
the sun being drawn out, slowly of its nocturnal shell,
was like a glow, shy in coming, yet not able to stay away,
and I was like the morning dew, waiting...

And while it spread across the sky, across the peaks, the liquid gold came alive,
to bring back memories of happier days, happier times,
when, breathless, I had viewed it, rooted!
