The Day I Lost Everything Poem by zophia j

The Day I Lost Everything

The day I lost everything
The birds outside my house stopped chirping for once
My heart goes cold, I feel a wave of emotions
Sorrow, anger, numbness, pain
What do I do with these feelings?

I cried over and over again.
Hours on end, not even sleep can draw the pain away this time.
I don't feel like eating, I don't feel like doing my activities
I don't feel like sleeping, I don't feel like getting up
I feel like dying.

But effort comes to dying.
I have no effort to give to myself.
I don't deserve effort.
I deserve this pain
I deserve to suffer.

I cried over and over again.
Hours on end, school feels like a distraction.
Life feels like a trap.
My mind feels empty.
But at the same time filled with thoughts.

The day I lost everything
I might lose my life
Sorrow, sadness, dejected, unloved.
But why do I cry when I'm to blame?
I don't deserve these tears.
