The Day It Is Very Warm Poem by Francis Duggan

The Day It Is Very Warm

Rating: 5.0

The day it is very warm with scarce a puff of breeze
And the cattle from the sun sheltering in the shade of the trees
And the warm air full of the buzzings of flies and of bees
In a forecast high of over forty degrees.

The brown and bare paddocks are thirsting for rain
And the water dams low and a waterless roadside drain
This countryside with lots of rain now could do
A day of precipitation having said that even two.

Last week it was dry and cool the weather it is strange
But we are at the onset of Worldwide climate change
In the north of the Country rain bucketing down
And flooding on the streets of many a village and town.

Climate change is for real it is now everywhere
We need the rain here that is falling up there
For human polluting the price huge to pay
'Tis warm so warm around here today.
