The Deafening Clock Poem by Svanhildur Njálsdóttir

The Deafening Clock

The deafning clock
It borrows deep within
Signalling the slow escape
of myself from myself
The gut rotting alarm
Signalling time loss
More seconds of failure
Wasting and rotting

The twisted soul
the reflection of myself
I hear it everywhere
but try to drown it out
The greatest source of misery
is ones own misery
to be poured and than sipped
to the rythem
of the deafning clock

A heartbeat should stop
So i may live in peace
Free from the sound
Marking the soulfull sleep
Living to die forever
While dying to live
I am deafened
By the clock.
