The Detached Son, Happy Mothers Day Poem by Scott Carey

The Detached Son, Happy Mothers Day

Rating: 4.8

I'm sitting on my chair, thinking what to write
It's hard for me to express, without taking flight.

While I look back through the years, oh how divine! ,
There's one little issue... a problem of mine.

This problem is one, which can't be undone,
It resides within me...your failure of a son.

Though It pains me to say, as the evidence is true
What have i done or given to you?

As my whole life, i've taken and taken,
Without a hint of gratitude, if i'm not mistaken.

Yet you're still here, standing by my side,
Smile so big and glowing with pride.

Always helping me reach for the stars,
Through thick and thin...no matter the scars.

I'm so lucky to have a mother like you,
Caring and loving with a heart so true.

Which is why i've decided on this day,
To write this poem, and wish you... a happy mothers day.
