The Dilemma Poem by Nusrat Perveen

The Dilemma

Ere, long it started,
and long before I knew,
it was there... tenderly hiding inside.
But, it couldn't be shown,
and you never saw.
Whether I was insane...
...or the oblivion was too soothing to resist,
that I let it grow,
muddled, if to conceal or divulge.
But it shouldn't be known,
and you never knew.
Now, that it grew so much,
I fear for my soul,
which nurtured it so long.
With its roots so deep... so strong,
I fear, it won't leave,
without shattering the space it inhabits.
Yet, I can't let it grow,
for, I fear...
to wound my soul...
embracing the fate, it ought to forfeit.
