Nusrat Perveen Poems

Blow past me 'O' breeze across the vale
Blow to fill me and soothe me of my bale
'O' breeze come to me
As you go round the moors and caress the waterfowl
...

Let me go, the soul cried,
It's tough to withhold, so let me fly,
Why with you should I be?
When all you do is hide me.
...

Ere, long it started,
and long before I knew,
it was there... tenderly hiding inside.
But, it couldn't be shown,
...

Everything that revolves around me,
seems to have come to a still.
The breezes touch me, caress me, whispers to me;
but I have lost it...
...

The coal black night seems to engulf it all,
the fake, the persona they wear all day long.

The desires, the cravings, the holy lust,
...

'O' twinkling starry night,
hide me in your darkness and guide me by thy light;
For, I want to go with you,
to the land where lies no red, no blue.
...

Everything seems perfectly fine,
over the still surface of the ocean
in a black starry night.
But no one knows, what lies within the dark deep waters.
...

8.

And the night falls,
filling these eyes again with that dream;
the dream where you seem too close to be far.
...

O dream!
will you visit me one night,
when I close my lids at the end of a hectic day.
when the grey sky fills with moonlight,
...

I stretched my arms in darkness,
to reach your shadow.
Shadow in the darkness?
My mind reminded,
...

It's long since I thought of you,
but the chill of this night
severs my heart;
leaving me insane, making me fall apart.
...

It was a shiny day,
when that poor farmer buried me
in the moist clay;
I was so tiny and weak,
...

The world seems different today
as if some dreams of yesterday
some desires for tomorrow
are disappearing in the mist.
...

Visit me O dream, when the moon is full in sky,
I lay here with a tired soul;
Do come and sooth my bleary eyes.
...

Let me walk some more with you,
before you change your way;
for, to you I want to show something,
and want something to say.
...

Walking past, I beheard
the zephyr rustling through the woods,
the young teak woods;
studded with pebbles at its feet,
...

Behold Ye! the owner of heart that dares to dream,
behold, the river flowing and the breeze blowing past you;
they won't come back to the place they leave,
alike is this moment, it won't be back to you.
...

The clouds all dark, no stars between,
I stand, afraid to move trembling within;
it's not the darkness that I fear,
but the silence that leaves nothing to hear.

The Maiden Who Dreamt Of Stars

Blow past me 'O' breeze across the vale
Blow to fill me and soothe me of my bale
'O' breeze come to me
As you go round the moors and caress the waterfowl
Come and embrace me and allay my wretched soul.

'O' breeze shall I relate to you,
the tale of a highland lass
of her dreams and woes, her approbation and abash.

'O' breeze stay! and I will tell you how her heart would ache
Through those gloomy autumn nights
with her soul craving love and her flesh contending the fake.

And shall I tell you... 'O' breeze!
How along the spring she sat aloof and wept
When you played and brushed the daffodils,
she sat and mourned, for lies and perfidies...
her maiden her could not intercept.

'O' breeze... for far must you blow
Will you take on you this tale
as you wander through the hills, the woods and the dale...
... of the maiden who dreamt of stars,
but, the 'GRAVE' beneath the weeping willow
was as far as she could go!
