The Doctor Poem by Ray Hansell

The Doctor

The doctor said, there is no hope
There’s nothing that can be done
The disease that she has
Well, it is a fatal one

She was told to get her affairs
All in a nice order
Because with each passing day
Her life will be growing shorter

The doctor gave her no hope
Nothing more would he do
I asked the doctor if
Have you ever had a doctor like you

He looked at me with surprise
He asked, what do you mean
I told him you are the worse doctor
That I have ever seen

I know the truth is good
That what people want to hear
But is there a reason why
You fill people with fear

You have no bed side manner
You seem to lack compassion
Just a little sympathy
Is all that people are asking
