The Dream Poem by Charles Thuo

The Dream

Rating: 5.0

I was taken into a pirate ship,

Yesternight as I went to sleep,

I taken deep into the sea,

Where only water I could see,

The sea reeked of salt,

And the captain was named Ault,

They tied me up in one large chain,

And didn’t mind as I screamed in pain,

The captain said, “Let the kid nap, ”

“Then tomorrow we’ll announce his kidnap, ”

And if his father doesn’t pay within a day,

Then his throat we will have to slay,

I woke up with my bed wet,

Not from urine but just from sweat,

Hoping that the next time I sleep,

I’ll not dream of the pirate ship.
