The Drowning Poem by Cece Dev

The Drowning

it may be just a jest
just a golden picture
breaking sunset’s reach
as it paints
the waking of the beach
as i stand on the sand
letting the waves reach over my head
washing away what was
tearing me down with a salty spray
On a calm day like this
where there’s thunder in my head
and tears like raindrops pounding down
with their voices echoing
just like the reeds in the deep
I am done
I am gone
like the rest
gone to sea
the drowning.
