The Dusk Slipped Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

The Dusk Slipped

The dusk slipped
from the bastions
from the twilight
on the seas
of which it was
the genesis:
ah! pursuing beauty
but not catching her!
the unwitting dusk left
as usual as all days
his weak throne for
the iron fist of night.
