The Dwelling Beast Within Poem by Low Li Ling Jasmine

The Dwelling Beast Within

Rating: 5.0

I could sense it rise almighty high
I could not ignore the beast which dwells inside
I watched as the drama unfurled
As it charged out from my sight
Blinded with rage
I could not restrain
The words which drove a stake

Its insatiable appetite, preying on my endurance
My efforts all a futile resistance
My contorted mask of furious
Would bring a sway of their opinions

But it was not desultory
I felt my triumphs of victory
It was temporary
As I could not rid myself of the anxiety
I just want to remain as the perfect nice girl they thought me to be
Everything could have been an averted memory

You describe a picture of anger and strong emotion well, I think it is easy to relate to this poem. Thank you, I am not alone. Best wishes, AA Gordon
