The Earthly Fortune. Poem by Adeyefa Tolulope Michael

The Earthly Fortune.

We've all tread the strange path in mystery
Like a traveller who is unfamiliar with his destination
We took our grand entrance leading to earth with hand so empty
And arrived with our naked bodies to enjoy a forgraith accommodation

With the divinity and promise of the creator
To explore the world and acquire it riches
Be fruitful and rule over other creatures
But not to unequal human shall we become leeches

From nothing we come and with nothing we shall return
Aches to aches dust to dust
For the earth is but our sojourn
All shall slip away and forever lost

Like whirlwind sweeping fig leaf into the shoal
Only memory is the treasure that transcend our soul

The Earthly Fortune.
