The Elevator Poem by Holly M. Doyon

The Elevator

He held the door open
As I came to a rush
He smiled lightly
As I let out a huff
He asked which floor
I told him floor four
He nodded as he pushed the button only once
Then I knew he was coming too
We started talking
About each other's life
Till he made me smile
I blushed as he told me my smile was cute
He looked away as I wanted to faint
For how much I liked him
When the elevator came to a stop
We walked together out the elevator door
He asked me as he opened the door
To bring me to dinner
I blushed even harder saying "Of course".
