The Empty Street Poem by Michael Geist

The Empty Street

Rating: 5.0

I walk the empty street
I never thought death would taste so sweet
The last thing you did was walk over me
It will only be in the end that you will see

The king- a righteous man-
Will cast us all into the fiery pan
He who rules with only blood
Will only drown in their own mud

I walk the body filled street
I never thought death would taste so sweet
The last thing you did was walk over me
It will only be in the end that you will see

I lead the poor and old
Through your kingdom of gold
You hear our march and our yell
As we grow near you only see Hell

I walk the blood filled street
I never thought death would taste so sweet
The last thing you did was walk over me
It will only be in the end that you will see

I take my stride to your door
You cry and you plea as you kneel to the floor
I slice right through you like a piece of meat
I never thought death would taste so sweet

I walk the empty street
I never thought death would taste so sweet
The last thing you ever did was walk over me
It was only in the end that you did cry and plea
