The End Poem by Abbey Rigney

The End

That last warm sip of your pumpkin spice latte.

The end of the roller coaster when the seat lock comes undone and you have to get off.

Or maybe it’s the last game of the season, playing that sport you thrive off of.

Nobody ever wants to Experience the end of anything.

We are humans.
Gluttons.
Always wanting more.
More than enough.
More than what is needed.
More than someone else.

These little moments, these slight disappointments in our life where things seem to reach its end…

They are nothing but a fly on the wall.

Don’t spend your life wanting more.
Spend it with care and persistence.
Laughter and joy that can be passed around.

Because one day it Will be the end.
The Very End.

And this time
You cannot buy another one.
There is no getting back in line.
And the season will never come back.

This Time it would be too late.
And you will have Wanted More than Anything to Experience

That last warm sip of your pumpkin spice latte.

The end of the roller coaster when the seat lock comes undone and you have to get off.

Or maybe it's the last game of the season, playing that sport you thrive off of.
