The End Poem by Iris Popa Wesmas

The End

Rating: 5.0

I have served well.
Yes,
I had my ups,
And downs.
I wasn't perfect.
I made mistakes.
Sometimes,
I'm proud of them,
Sometimes,
I'm not.
Everyone,
Looked up to me.
Sometimes,
I felt despair,
Sometimes,
I felt a sense,
Of duty.
When Death,
Came knocking at my door,
I wasn't scared.
In a way,
I felt,
Relieved.
I longed to see the ones,
That were taken,
Before me.
I knew,
That I have done well.
I knew that,
By doing this,
I will cause great pain,
Around the world.
I know that,
By doing this,
I may have put an end,
To what I worked for,
In my years.
But I can't,
Go on,
Anymore.
At long last,
I may,
Rest in peace.
