The End Poem by iffi shigr

The End

There is something crawling up my throat
Hanging off the tip of my tongue
And I will deny that it is your name until my dying breath
With clenched teeth and pursed lips

Because you are all that there is
Adn I am trying to find a way to exist
But to reach the other side, to come out alive
Is impossible, for you are the light
The light at the end of the tunnel
A star that shines too bright and blinds

And if there is ever to be a light that shines brighter than you
It will herald the beginning of the end
And I will cry in my hands, 'what a beautiful end'
And I will cry again, 'what a beautiful end'

For in that moment, something exists
A light, a light that you cannot eclipse
This chaotic mess, a burst of color, a breath of life
A rope a razor, a ledge, a knife
A bullet, a pill - goodbye, goodbye

Is there anything more beautiful than this?
The sweet escape, the heavenly bliss
Is there anything more beautiful than this?
No, this is it
This is it
This is it

And I will cry in my hands, 'what a beautiful end'
And I will cry again, 'what a beautiful end'
And I begin again
