The End Of A Certain War Does Not Mean Any Immediate Peace. Poem by MOHAMMAD SKATI

The End Of A Certain War Does Not Mean Any Immediate Peace.

A war is not peace and
Peace is not a war, but
Both of them are like parallel lines that
Will never meet at all,
If a war never ends in a good peace,
It means it is still in there,
Peace cheers up our souls
If it happens anywhere, but
We sometimes look for it,
We love peace, but
All warmongers keep wars around,
In spite of all damages and casualties, but
We do insist on getting any good peace
That terminates any war's fires, and
As long as ugly wars remain a big threat
To our life anytime, then
A pretty peace will not be attainable
Sooner or later
Unless we have our good faith
To fix any pretty peace and
To terminate any war immediately.
