The End Of A Poisonous Path Poem by Ihsan Musthafa

The End Of A Poisonous Path

Rating: 4.0

Seven years went by scavenging our souls to grime
Before and After, drowned and saved by the same hands
Then came a sun with a sky so beautiful and so bright
I thought the colors of my world will never dim, I was so naive
But my hands scratched away the laughter and the passions so high
Accursed and destroyed like a devilish magic wand of the night
Powerless I drowned my joy, the blessings and the colors so bright
Lost it all but mostly it was my own senseless life
Oh God! its poison that ran through my blood stream, shameless black
While an evil cloud rained on me, slandering with a smite
It was all me, all me, take me for I am guilty
Strike me down for blooming my sky and shining the sun of joy
Nay it was not the chemicals nor the poison of my pitiful past
It was the cloak of ungratefulness I burnt and could not employ
