The Error Of Commerce Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

The Error Of Commerce

In every market stall
There are bucket loads of people
Standing around with thoughts full of misery
The error of commerce printed in their faces
There is not a lot of money in their pockets
Only a few coins to buy a few onions or bananas
The rest of the money is stashed in a few people's wallets
Useless in its beauty, it cannot even feed a dying malnourished child
It is kept safe to decorate the fancy project of life
Where people fill their bellies with oysters, mushrooms and many other exotic delicacies
There is no room for hunger pangs or any of the thorns of life that torments the poor and vulnerable
The error of commerce is not taught in universities
It stays hidden in the eyes of the masses
It is not even mentioned in churches or mosques or temples
It is the cost of living that stops humanity from achieving the unimaginable
It keeps humanity in a state of perpetual longing
It hinders the progression of humanity to a higher state of consciousness
It stops the flow of unconditional Love
Barricading the heart of Man with evil schemes, exploitation, corruption and manipulation
Only a few people are at liberty to truly enjoy life
The rest are kept in chains, toiling for a living under the scotching sun and tight timelines
The error of commerce is not only a human tragedy, it's a cemetery of the human conscience and consciousness
