The Eye Can See Beauty- The Heart Cannot Feel Poem by Shalom Freedman

The Eye Can See Beauty- The Heart Cannot Feel

THE EYE CAN SEE BEAUTY/ THE HEART CANNOT FEEL

The Eye can see Beauty
The Heart cannot feel.

Life is difficult-
And in the hard days
Of getting and gaining
We lose our Soul.

All is cold emptiness
And cold words-

Abstract reasoning mind
Finds a theme for poetry
In all it is not-

Which it can only desperately Abstractly hope
Is not everything.
