The Far Side Of Today - Poem by Adrian Wait

I’ll meet you on the far side of today
between yesterday and tomorrow
where we’ll reconcile the breach
betwixt what was, and
what might have been
where unfulfilled dreams,
smiling in consummation
Liars. Lie only to themselves
self-deception a lonely tale
Fooling no-one, denying truth
Self-delusion, a fool’s errand
with but one runner, ourselves
two are better than one
reconcile on the far side of today
it is all we have.
