The Fight Poem by Liam Hughes

The Fight

As I open the doors of perception
My entry is met with good reception
But a few will think I'm arising suspicion
If they had any sense they'd accept my decision
With ideas made of pure solid gold
The statements I make are undoubtedly bold
Where my road comes to an end I'll never know
My vision is clouded by the wind, rain and snow
I'll search for a lifetime for the answers I need
I'll beg for forgiveness regarding my greed
To deplete the bad and replenish the good
If this I could then I definitely would
I'd hope that it helps me feel better inside
As I'd bask in the glory of feelings of pride
I sit around and wonder, will ever be reprised
I wonder why it's looked down on hated and despised
By people who've never experienced it's beauty
But still feel there performing their moral duty
When will they know their opinions aren't right
When will they surrender from the on-going fight
