The Fight Of Your Life - Poem by John Paul Cosato

Born of Adam – We arrive in sin
No fault of our own – Inherited from men
We enter this life – With selfish desires
Hungry for power – Surrounded by liars
Ruling the world – All of mankind
Looking for peace – And losing our mind
Reaching the top – Our wishes come true
To our surprise – It’s nothing new
We’ve gained the world – But lost the truth
Seeking the darkness – Losing our youth
Lost and depressed – And ready to die
Empty and hopeless – Sick of the lie
The devil is ready – And waiting for you
Given no thought – You haven’t a clue
It’s a spiritual battle – And waging war
The fight of your life – To the very core
The heart, the soul – Conflicted inside
Satan has taken – Your innocence died
So close to damnation – You’ll never know
How close you came – To losing your soul
Desperate and broken – You pray to the King
Lord if you’re real – I’ll do anything
Accept my free gift – And believe in me
Turn from sin – And you will see
Love, Peace and Joy – For eternity
