The Firefly Within Poem by ali rauf

The Firefly Within

As I yearn for the yearning galaxies
Galaxies wreathed; wreathing ecstasies
A firefly burns itself to death
In my hand…breathes its last breath
Alas! O God of heavens! You rest
Not on earth, but in heavens
O ignorant self-indulged me!
Unaware of this self-less death
Raving on in volcanic spree…
Ignorant me………………………….
Whirling in external glee
Let galaxies spin themselves to death
My heart sets itself ablaze
I am destined to my craze
Here…I curvet into my heart
Lest my heart; as well dies
And nobody cries………….
