The First Dance Poem by Saurabh Raizada

The First Dance

Hold me like the sail holds wind
steadying the ship
as it ploughs strong thru' choppy seas
sway with me like wind borne leaves
twirling… swirling…
flirty gusts of warm summer breeze

Whirling on sharp stiletto heel
and then a drop
the world zips around fleetingly
I'm thrown off orbit, hold me close
ambrosial fumes…
head throbs in the rhythmic jamboree

Diatonic chords of a lead guitar
high pitched notes
frenetic decibels of delirious ecstasy
bright flashing bulbs of the discotheque
snaking neon tubes…
the night belongs to you... to me!
