The Foot Of The Mountain Poem by Anthony Raymond

The Foot Of The Mountain

At the foot of the mountain
About to start the climb
At first glance it seems
To be one of my dreams
There is no way for me
Not from what I can see
I should forget about it all
Impossible for me, it’s so tall
One step sets me on my way
If I need help, I’ll just pray
After walking for some time
I say, I can make this climb
This seemingly unlikely feat
Now is something I can beat
As I lift my head I now see
This little hill in front of me
Starting out as just a prayer
Is now much easier to bear
Step by step, stride by side
My Guardian Angel by my side
Just a little bit longer to go
The mountain top is all aglow
Reaching the top I now see
An incredible sight before me
A vastness of awesome beauty
Streaming forth as a golden sea
Eternal grace gushing as a fountain
As a gift of love for a lifetime climb
