The Front Door Views Poem by Monica M Engeler

The Front Door Views

I am standing in front of my door,
Watching the sun set for the day,
The early evening traffic was whipping by,
It was Friday again, and everybody was in a hurry.

Then, I looked to the skies again, and saw bright evening stars.
The moon was now glowing just north of Jupiter.
You know that really bright star,
It twinkles before it‘s dark.

Well, that was me wanting to know the sky.
I saw the moon and the stars.
I wanted to know where they shine.
They stand alone in the dark sky dancing about.

Oh! How I talk in riddles.
Trying to make sense of my thoughts,
I sigh, just wandering, just dreaming.
I am a dreamer of visions.

I am always looking for tomorrow's
I try to reach for the stars for answers
And never seem to find them,
Why, I just don't know why.

Life goes on.
The world before me is so big.
It's full of questions and answers.
The skies don't always have resolutions.

Well I need to close the front door.
Life is calling me to go in for the night.
This story needs to end.
Goodnight and sweet dreams.

Goodnight.
