The Full Moon And The Little Girl Poem by RIC BASTASA

The Full Moon And The Little Girl

a little girl by the window
looking out
to the sea,

the full moon shines
spreading soft light on the trees
and the vast expanse
of the sea beyond her

fresh air caresses her face
scents of leaves and flowers
a taste of salt carried by the sea breeze
hushing sounds

mother is still not home and father is far away

the moon shines brightly that night
loneliness is very much like it.
