The Garden Of Her Life - Poem by Peter Wyllie

The garden of her life is rich with colour
of flowers that are pleasant to the eye.
The seeds sown in the spring have grown and flourished
to give her back a plentiful supply.

Each bed has been so carefully attended;
to get the best from every seedling sown.
And now you can enjoy the sights and fragrance
of all the blooms that her long life has grown.

But the garden where the greatest blooms are waiting
is the garden of your spirit and your heart;
it is there that you will find the sweetest flowers
with a scent that will not fade; that won’t depart.

In the springtime of your life she planted seedlings
and then tended them with joy and loving care
so that now as each of you approach your summers
you will find a wondrous vision waiting there.

There are flowers of love, commitment and devotion;
and their scent hangs heavy in the evening air.
Their brightness will make light your darkest moments;
and their everlasting joy is yours to share.
