The Gates Of Heaven Poem by Cathy Zhang

The Gates Of Heaven

Saint Peter stands guard at the gates of Heaven
Letting in those who never committed a sin,
But for those who did, will not come in
And down they go for punishment!

Powerful God rules with the angels
All light and pure and kind and glad
The Garden of Eden from windowsills
Watch from the gates that hold back the bad

Happiness and perfection will never be felt,
From those on Earth and in Hell,
The pain and sadness away will melt
As quick as a jingle of a bell;

But for what price do you give to live,
In the glorious Heaven above?
The fatal price you have to give
Is death, resulting in giving up your love!
