The Ghost Inside Poem by guillermo veloso

The Ghost Inside

Photos like masks hang in the hall
How many masks have I worn and
How many bodies have I traveled in?
The face in the mirror wears
The years well, I think
The ghost inside;
Gentleman
Poet
Peasant
Fifty
Bones and self
Fossilized
I roam with the traveler
And seek a quieter shore
