The Ghosts Of The Past

My dear countrymen and women;
Friends and foes in arms;
The ghosts of the past
Have begun to haunt us;
And rest they never will,
Until they strike us down in dust,
Or when our lips betray our hands.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem, The Ghosts Of The Past, is all about the shameful history of Nigeria; how successive generations have unwittingly dealt mortal blows to a naturally, intellectually and holistically blessed nation.

Now the future of Nigeria is bleakly swallowed up in a stygian darkness.

This is an admonition for a sincere reconstruction.
