The Girl I Used To Be Poem by Naomi Chao

The Girl I Used To Be

I used to be amongst their crowd
laughing at their jokes
trying to fit in
But that was the girl I used to be

Everything, somehow changed
from good to bad and bad to worse
their shadows tower over me
as I shrink back into the ignored corner

What did I do wrong?
What did I say?
Nothing seemed to go my way
Because that was the girl I used to be

I hold back my tears
as I hear their whispers
I weep softly, all alone
As I relise that...

I would never be the girl
that I used to be

WE would all possibly change a few things if we could from growing, how we learn from these things. Thank you and welcome to PH
