The Girl Inside Poem by Sheila Mitchell

The Girl Inside

Rating: 5.0

I'm the girl on the inside,
A precious gem kept classified,
Hidden deep inside the veil,
That gentle soul no longer shows,
Now dimming her outer glow

I'm the girl on the inside,
Beautiful, strong, always terrified,
Sewing up any holes in the veil,
Love now only given to my hosts family,
Emotional bank full, completely wealthy

I'm the girl on the inside,
Only coming out when my host decides,
Never fully bringing down the veil,
Protecting me from another emotional homicide
My heart, my psyche completely purified

I'm the girl on the inside,
My glorified prison is justified,
Too many times having to heal the veil,
Never again will I be abused,
Never again will I ever be used
