Sheila Mitchell Poems

Listening to the world go by,
Knowing what time, it is,
As parents take their children to school,
Excited about their day ahead,
...

Please don't try to change me,
Look inside, please tell me what you see,
I'm a woman that's complicated
Pure in heart, loving and spiritually true,
...

Towers ablaze,
Vans killing,
Knives drawn,
Gun shooting,
...

I'm the girl on the inside,
A precious gem kept classified,
Hidden deep inside the veil,
That gentle soul no longer shows,
...

Oily, gleaming mirrors on tarmac,
Tyres causing greasy bubbles,
Birds dancing in natures baths,
Trees stretching out to catch the moisture,
...

One day my heart will stop crying,
My head full of memories, hurting
Each day I am healing,
Raining tears in my thunderstorm,
...

Safety surrounds,
Secrets hidden,
Privacy complete,
Music beats,
...

Invisible Behind The Curtain

Listening to the world go by,
Knowing what time, it is,
As parents take their children to school,
Excited about their day ahead,
I know they're all there,
Do they know I am here?
Would they care,
Invisible behind the curtain,

Recognising some voices,
Imagining their stories,
Some I have given names,
Now characters on paper,
They share more each day,
Do they know I'm here?
Would they care,
Invisible behind the curtain

Sharing their laughter,
Exciting news announced,
An ear to all their secrets,
Lovers sharing too much,
I hide under the covers,
Do they know I'm here?
Would they care,
Invisible behind the curtain

Beautiful singing on a Saturday night,
Seagulls squawking 24/7,
All lucky to be alive,
Wives moaning about husbands,
Husbands moaning about wives,
Do they know I'm here?
Would they care,
How many are invisible behind curtains?
