The Girl She Was Poem by Sanvi Jain

The Girl She Was

Siblings wondered, what was the cause?
where was her sister, the girl who she was?
Mother would question abruptly,
why her daughter was never hungry?
Father could just assume,
why his princess never came out the room?
Best friend pondered what had befall?
why her friend would never answer her call?
Brother secretly couldn't understand,
where was his picky sister who always had a demand?
Teachers just didn't know,
why the topper of the class had scored so low?
Relatives wondered, why she was always so sad?
did she not have everything, a girl like her could have?

All this time she was hiding under a mask,
what was the reason, you ask?
Because under that mask she wished for everyone to pause,
because even she couldn't find the girl who she was!
