The Glowing Eye Poem by Jane Laefeano

The Glowing Eye

The glowing eye inside my head, tells me the right from wrong.
When I begin to do some wrong doing
It sings its golden song:
I’m in your mind to tell you
The good stuff from the bad
And I once helped you on adventure
For something you’d never have. Though I’m meek and humble
And you depend on me for stead
There’s no place I’d rather be
Than snug inside your head.
There’s this eye inside my head, it tells me what to do
And it sang to help me down the road
To all the creatures I ever slew:
I say I know and you do too
What’s right and what is wrong.
This isn’t right, so you’d better not
This is not a useless song.
If I am really just a bother,
Then why consult me for advice?
I do not know what the world would be
If I was not inside your life.
